Save $-1,999.00 AUD
We have sourced the most beautiful and colourful Boujaad rug. This unique piece is handmade by women in a small region of Haouz, Morocco between the Middle Atlas and the Atlantic ocean. Boujaad rugsare handwoven pile rugs made from natural wool fibers and using vegetable dyes. Each beautiful piece is an individual creation and holds a magical tale of the weaver.
Boujad rugs are a piece of art with the most vibrant colours. It has beautiful berber patterns and symbols that comes in different shades of the colours. It’s the first thing that would attract the eyes in the room. They are all individually crafted by hand and may be slightly asymmetrical in their shape and pattern.
Boujad is a large town located between the southern flank of the Zaer-Zaiane territories and the northeastern edge of the Rehamna region. It is an important market center for weavings produced in the area from Ez-Zhiliga south to Beni Mellal that are referred to in the trade as ‘Boujaads’. They are, however, by no means homogeneous since the weaving tribes, though of Arab origin, are not part of a single confederation and are spread out over a relatively large area.
This particular rug is an absolute stunner. It is thick, lush and the perfect area rug for large spaces, the nursery or play room.
All rugs are thoroughly cleaned prior to leaving Morocco. You may find some fine grains of desert sand which will lessen after a few vacuums.
If you wish to wash your rug in the future, using a professional rug cleaner is advised.
Shake your rug once in a while to clear off any dust that it has collected.
Due to the age and handmade nature of each vintage Moroccan rug, there may be some imperfections, flaws or signs of wear. They are not considered as defects/ faults, but add to the charm and story.
